This sample woven on the jacquard and then the small diamond shapes were cut out and turned over to give the opposite colour. It was then ironed onto to some cotton that had had bondaweb ironed on so it would all be kept in place. Amazing stuff, bondaweb!!!!

This as one of the samples i did on the Jacquard weave machine at uni for my tie project. The design is based on letters. They are made up of a large letter with a small letter inside them?! I spent hours drawing them in my sketch book and cutting the small letters out!!!It took forever but looked good.
I applied this to my weave design and the results(as you will see in other samples) looked really effective.
This sample was pieced together and some of the weave was cut back on each side.
The second sample has two gaps in the weave, these were made by inserting a ruler in between the threads and weaving after it. When it was taken out it gave the open look that is seen!
Broidere anglaise flowers and edgings were stitched on after.
